Bio

Freddy Butler is an aspiring writer specializing in fiction, poetry, and music and fashion criticism. Butler was born and raised in Providence, Rhode Island and graduated from the Wheeler School. He then moved to New York City to attend Fordham University, where he graduated with an English major and concentration in creative writing. He also served as Poetry Editor for Bricolage, a Fordham campus literary journal.

Butler is a lifelong musician as well, and has worked in both the education and concerts departments at New York's Jazz at Lincoln Center. He is a guitarist well-versed in the history and styles of genres ranging from electronic to hip-hop and jazz.

In his spare time, Butler collects vinyl records, tries to find photos from early Hedi Slimane collections, and enjoys reading arguments between audiophiles on online forums. He is also a lover of surrealist poetry and realistic fiction, and believes the short story just might be humanity’s greatest invention.
